Thoroughbred horses are remarkably beautiful creatures. Even most non-horse racing fans would agree with that. Fortunately, we live in a time in history when their beauty can be preserved permanently because of photography. In fact, modern photography is so advanced that, here in the 21st century, even a non-professional photographer can take excellent photographs. This site contains a collection of photographs of many beautiful thoroughbreds. Some of them are action-packed photos of a champion horse flying around the turn on the outside, driving for the wire with the jockey's stick fully cocked, or striding for the finish line to win a prestigious race. Others show these amazing animals in moments away from the track, maybe getting a bath, eating hay in their stalls, getting saddled, being hotwalked, grazing in a pasture, or otherwise relaxing in the sun. The best feature of this site is that all of the photos it contains are free to be used by anyone for any non-commercial use.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of horse racing is watching these beautiful animals doing what they do best.. Horses have such beautiful gaits. The way they carry themselves when their strides are fully extended is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. There are four basic colors in the horse racing world: brown horses, bay horses, roan horses and black horses. Besides the color of the horse, it can also have specific markings. Common horse markings are known as socks (markings on the horse's lower legs), star (marking on the center of the race horse's head) and various other markings.

Below you will find some samples of great race horse pictures and horse race videos. Although some of these race horses may not be world famous or champion race horses, some of them are truly magnificent to watch while they're racing. You'll notice in our collection of horse pictures and horse videos that you will see some champion race horses. Pay particular attention to the champion race horse's gait or movement. They say you can determine a champion race horse by looking in his eyes. These race horses will show expressions of strength and dominance. Thoroughbred race horses are the fastest breed of horses. Horse racing requires these magnificent animals to carry weights, including the jockey, and in some cases above 130 pounds at speeds of approximately 40 miles per hour.
